When in Rome – do as the Romans do… I took this motto + applied it to Houston, Texas. Where, it basically means the same thing. We checked into the Four Seasons Houston and immediately felt transported back to chic NYC. The lobby lined from top to bottom with marble, gold accents, and Peter Lindberg hardcovers.
Within minutes of being in the lobby, you felt the sophistication of the interior as well as the guests. The main marble staircase leads up to a couple of their restaurants, Quattro, as well as Vinotecca, specializing in wine. Up the stairs you can also find the spa, nail bar, and fitness center.
We soon cozied up into our Executive Suite at the Four Seasons. Fully equipped with a king sized bed, french doors, terrycloth bath robes, and a major city view. The executive suite had a separate living room, bedroom, and a full marble bathroom. The hotel also offers 24 hour room service for all of those 3am cravings.
We were welcomed by the most delish signature Texas kit up to our room to snack on before dinner.
The Four Seasons has one of the best pools to boast in Houston. With a city view, the pool includes a water wall and hot tub to take a dip. Lined with palm trees – you feel hidden from the rest of the city, yet, just exposed enough to feel like you’re looking over from your 5-star oasis.
Once settled in, we grabbed a bite at their main restaurant, Bayou & Bottle. In the spirit of trying everything to get the full experience, we ordered beef fat fries, a burger, scallops, and lobster tacos. Bayou & Bottle’s scallops were some of the best scallops I’ve had in my life, while Joe’s monstrous B&B burger left him full + belly happier than ever.
The bar in the restaurant is Houston’s longest bar – filled with every bourbon your head could think up.
Bayou & Bottle’s ambiance is just what you want when sitting down for elevated comfort food. With plush leather booths, dim lighting, and tremendous fireplaces – we could have sat there for hours.
In the morning, we grabbed brunch outside where we snagged smoked salmon + avocado toast – a.k.a, what dreams are made of.
One of our favorite things about the Four Seasons Houston is their recent TopGolf addition. Tapping into the Houston demographic, the Four Seasons now has a TopGolf Swing Suite where you can participate in the experience right from the hotel. To amplify the experience – you can order from the full menu at Bayou & Bottle. We cruised over to the simulator and ordered drinks + their two desserts: a bacon brownie and fruit trifle. Joe and I spent an almost an hour in there playing and goofing around with each other before ending the night. It was so nice to have dinner at the hotel and finish off with TopGolf. It was the perfect chill, date-night “in.”
